Online Script Workshop Summer 2013

Over the last few years, BlueCat has traveled the world to work directly with our writers to develop their screenplays and screenwriting tools at our workshops. For all the members of our community who have not been able to attend, for whatever reason, we have developed the option of participating in the BlueCat Online workshop.

The BlueCat Online Workshop will afford the convenience of workshopping your screenplay with Gordy Hoffman, founder and judge of BlueCat, along with other members of the workshop, on your own schedule, conveniently at your own computer.

How does the online workshop work?

Each writer will submit your screenplay to the workshop by a previously announced deadline. There will be a limit of seven writers per workshop, just like our regular workshops.

Approximately two weeks later, on a previously announced specific date, Gordy will provide written notes on each screenplay (1-2 pages), as well as release videos with comments on each screenplay (approx. 15-25 minutes each). These seven videos will be provided to all participants of the workshop privately to watch via our YouTube account, along with the written notes.  The videos will be available for 10 days. This provides all participants of the workshop access to both the written notes and video comments on each screenplay. All members are asked to provide written comments on the scripts, as this will provide a much richer experience for all the participants, but this is not mandatory.

Shortly after everyone has had a chance to watch the videos and review Gordy's notes, workshop participants will be asked to submit their questions to Gordy. All questions will be answered in a follow-up video.

What if you don’t have a screenplay to submit?

If you don’t have a screenplay you’re ready to submit but would like to participate in this unique online opportunity, you may sign up for regular registration for the workshop. With regular registration, you receive all the screenplays in advance, you may submit comments on the screenplays, have access to Gordy’s comment videos, as well as submit questions and watch the video followup.
