Calling all screenwriters!


The 2016 BlueCat Screenplay Competition is currently accepting Feature and Short screenplays.


Regular Deadline: OCTOBER 15TH, 2015


Every entry receives script analysis.


Submit by Thursday, October 15th at Midnight PDT to receive analysis by November 10th.


All scripts entered by the Regular Deadline are eligible for resubmission.


BlueCat Alumni Highlights:


Savion Einstein‘s 2014 Joplin Award winning script The Longest Birthday has been optioned by Victoria Films.


Zeke Farrow, a 2012 Feature Finalist for his script Fuck Facebook, received the Peabody Award for his documentary Best Kept Secret. His newest feature, Before the Sun Explodes, is currently in post-production, and he is now focused on writing a new short film starring Side Effects’ Marin Ireland.


2015 Feature finalist Theodore Schaefer was awarded the Davey Foundation’s 2015 Short Film Grant to produce his short film The Zeno Question


Features Grand Prize: $15,000

Four Finalists: $2,500 ea.


Shorts Grand Prize: $10,000

Three Finalists: $2,000 ea.


International Awards:

The Joplin: $2,000 USD

*Best screenplay from outside the USA, UK, and Canada


The Cordelia: $2,000 USD

*Best screenplay from the United Kingdom


The Roshan: $2,000 USD

*Best screenplay from India


Entry Fee: $50 Shorts | $65 Features

*Students are eligible to submit their short screenplays at a discounted $35 rate for the duration of the competition.
