However, that is not often, if ever, the reality of the situation, and the path to success as a screenwriter can be a difficult one. Screenwriter Kim Garland shares the four lessons about screenwriting that she learned by exploring other avenues of the film industry, from directing to editing, arguing that the best way to develop your abilities as a screenwriter is to know the many components of filmmaking.
