Thank you for the chance to read the script for Brooklyn. I read the wonderful book and enjoyed the film. It’s the kind of story I like to write. I’ll learn a lot comparing the script with the book, primarily to see how the screenwriter chooses, combines, and condenses scenes;.and how a few lines of dialogue can say everything.
Room: Emma Donoghue’s excellent representation of the mother and child relationship in the most claustrophobic dramatic settings!
The Big Short: Money, Power, Tricks Of The Trade and Wall Street! That was not an easy ‘financial crisis story’ to adapt. Congrats to Charles Randolph, Adam McKay as the winners of #WGAAwards: ‘The Big Short’ Wins for Adapted Screenplay http://thr.cm/MleaJR!
