Gordy Hoffman and Heather

Gordy Hoffman

Raised in Fairport, N.Y., Gordy Hoffman graduated from the University of Kansas in 1987. He wrote his first stage play, HONG KONG, in Washington, D.C., where he was selected as a member of the Jeannie McKean Moore Poetry Workshop at George Washington University in 1990. In 1994, Gordy founded Company, a Chicago-based experimental workshop that explored the creation of original text through imaginative use of the voice and body. His plays have been produced in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego, England and Australia.

His first screenplay, a black comedy about the underground donor organ market, remains unfinished. Gordy’s second screenplay, LOVE LIZA, directed by Todd Louiso and starring his brother, Philip Seymour Hoffman, won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award at the 2002 Sundance Film Festival. In 2001, Gordy was chosen for Fox Searchlab, a director development program at Fox Searchlight, where he wrote and directed three digital shorts, THE WOMAN WHO STOPPED SEEING MOVIES, JACK SIGNS and UNTITLED.

Gordy made his feature directorial debut with his script, A COAT OF SNOW, which world premiered at the 2005 Locarno International Film Festival. A COAT OF SNOW screened at the Milan Film Festival, made its North American Premiere at the Arclight in Hollywood, and won the Domani Vision Award at VisionFest, held at the Tribeca Cinemas in New York.

Heather Schor

A Pittsburgh native, Heather graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2002. After relocating to Los Angeles, she interned in the Film & Digital Entertainment Department at Rogers & Cowan, the top public relations firm in Hollywood, where she did marketing and publicity on MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING, THE GREY ZONE, and REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES, amongst other movies.

In 2003, Heather was a producer on the inaugural Artivist Film Festival, and later that same year, was the production coordinator on A COAT OF SNOW, a digital feature. In 2004, she partnered with Gordy on BlueCat, where she developed SCREENPLAY LIVE. Later in 2006, she begins pre-production on the butcher shop movie, being written by Gordy.
